Really excited to bring you the next video from the second instalment of our Jersey Myths & Legends project:

‘La Cocagne’…

Another of Jersey’s lesser well known myths, this story was told to children by their parents – as a warning not to stay out too late by themselves.

Once again, the storytelling and visual potential of this legend caught my eye (and imagination) when researching through these old tales – and I felt it was an ambitious but exciting challenge to take on.

Big thanks to Jersey Arts Trust for supporting this project and to Jersey Arts Centre for accepting a selection of our images to feature in the Jersey Myths & Legends exhibition which is on throughout April.

There’s lots of great work from lots of talented artists on show so be sure to head down and check it all out.

None of this would have been possible without some amazing teamwork and I’m indebted to Callum Thorne for putting together another fantastic video and to Eva Miere MUA, The White Shell Co., Aran Clark, Patrick Reed, Jorja Clark, NDA Photography and Lauren Clark for helping me to bring this story to life.

Thanks also to Jersey Heritage for Jorja’s costume.

Keep your eyes peeled for the release of all the images from this shoot and for future Jersey myths and legends stories.

*We’ve got our final shoot of the series this weekend and will be finishing it off by looking at one of Jersey’s most iconic legends – we’ve got some cool stuff planned!
