Sea Swimming Blog #25
Day 64 Sea Swimming.
#25 of the blog.
Like day follows night it was yet another grey and slightly blustery winters day today - and with the tides favourable to a morning dip - I headed back down to St Aubin at 9am and met up with the Bathing Beau & Bluebells.
I mentioned on the blog yesterday that I hoped they wouldn’t get annoyed by my daily snapping, and, having actually only shared the blog with them on our WhatsApp group yesterday afternoon, I was thankfully met with plenty of enthusiasm and even a bit of freshly washed hair! All prepped for todays swim!
With my main cameras being a bit of a hassle to carry about (and costly to replace if they got wet) I decided to take the waterproof camera in today… conditions from land seemed about the same as yesterday but as we got in the rising tide seemed to encourage the swell to pick up.
I’d left my bright yellow inflatable buoy in the car by accident so decided against the big swim out to Gracie… settling instead for a swim out to Wilson where ‘he’ was treated to a well overdue photoshoot of his own.
A few of the others joined me and we took a few photos (as best we could) in the rolling sea as it churned its way in and then back off the sea wall.
Jenny kindly took a couple of me and then I headed back in to put the camera aside before another quick lap out to Wilson and back again just to try and add a bit of mileage to todays effort.
In other news I uploaded an advert to Facebook where I’ve offered a FREE PHOTOSHOOT (if you write it in capitals it’ll hopefully attract the attention of the scrollers!) to any sea swimmers who are willing to donate to our Just Giving page as we look to collect money for the JSPCA (for the Swim Smart English Channel swim)… hopefully I’ll get a bit of take up on that and can do my bit in terms of raising a bit of cash (and awareness) of our challenge.
