Sea Swimming Blog #2

Day 30 of sea swimming.
#2 of the blog.
I'd left the camera at home the last couple of days after not really being too inspired by the greyness that greeted me when I woke up on Monday & Tuesday, but on Wednesday I made the effort to take my gear with me.
(It might not sound like too much hassle but once you’ve got a bag full of swim gear + a bag full of camera gear suddenly carrying all those things can seem like a bit of a chore).
But I’m glad that I did.
I drove down St Aubin at 9am to meet the Bathing Beau & Bluebells (who I’d first met on 7th December). They are a group of sea swimmers of mixed ages, abilities and genders but all sharing that passion/madness for the sea that I was starting to relate to.
Mad they maybe, but not stupid - we wouldn’t be swimming here today for we were met by one hell of a swell.
The light at that time was beautiful so I took a few photos of it glistening gold on the crests of the waves whilst the group decided that the sheltered bay of Belcroute would be a better option for a dip.
We arrived and found a group of ladies there… shower caps and all!
I asked if they minded me taking a few photos to which they replied…
“Of course, but you’ll need to speak with my agent for we’re the Real Housewives of Jersey don’t you know?!”
