Sea Swimming Blog #20

Day 58 Sea Swimming.
#20 of the blog.
Bit of a rubbish start to the day… the struggles of trying to get my daughter ready for school after she’d gone to bed late then not gone to sleep for ages(!)
I knew the cold sea would do me good.
I went to St Aubin at 9am and met up with the Bluebells.
Having turned up a little early I took a couple of photos of the grey scene before me, as the sun tried to poke its way through, contrasting against the dark clouds.
The tide was out a little so we walked in for a few metres then I swam out to the far buoy (Gracie) and back (x2)… I’m still not quite sure how far this is… think I might look at purchasing an open water swimming watch but might need to save some pennies first.
As I was getting changed, a nice red VW camper pulled up on the slip which was a good photo opportunity… I took a few photos of the camper in the foreground and 2 guys wading out with St Aubins fort in the background as the golden light from the sun gently cast it’s light and transformed the view.
I stayed around for a little bit and stole a sneaky portrait of one of them as they got out… I think the best option for good photos of other sea swimmers is to take them and then ask! Most people are sound with it once I explain afterwards!
“Shoot first,
ask questions later”
